It happened just before 9:30 a.m. Saturday on Farrington Highway near Nanakuli Avenue.
According to police, the driver of a gray SUV, an 18-year-old woman, told them she fell asleep at the wheel – causing her car to veer into an oncoming car.
She was taken to the hospital in serious condition, EMS officials say. Her four female passengers – a 12-year-old, a 5-year-old and a 2-year-old, were also hospitalized in serious condition.
According to EMS officials, the driver of the other car, a 22-year-old man, was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition.
His passenger, a 16-year-old boy, was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
