A 9-year-old boy nearly drowned Tuesday afternoon.
It happened about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at a swimming pool at the Palama Settlement off Vineyard Boulevard.
The boy had already been pulled from the water when emergency officials arrived.
They say he was taken to a trauma center in critical condition.
Police are investigating.
