Honolulu Police asking for more witnesses in bus stop beating death

Honolulu Police want more witnesses to a deadly beating to come forward.

Crimestoppers released this sketch of the suspect wanted in connection with an attack on a man at a bus stop on North School Street.

It happened on August 5.

Bystanders intervened and the suspect ran off.

The victim, 64-year-old John Abiley, died less than a week later.

"There was a 911 caller that called, anonymous caller, that gave very good information and we’re asking and hoping that person will call back, we did have somebody in custody that was released pending investigation the detectives are definitely trying to build a case with more information," says Honolulu Police Sgt. Kim Buffett, Crimestoppers.

The man was wearing a black t-shirt, dark colored cargo shorts, and tennis shoes.

Anyone with information can call Crimestoppers at 955-8300, all tips remain anonymous.
