"Surf rage" leads to alleged robbery

An apparent case of surf rage resulted in a Kailua man being taken into police custody Thursday at an Ala Moana surf spot.

Authorities say the suspect’s surfboard was damaged after he collided with another surfer.

The 24-year-old suspect blamed the other man for the collision and demanded they trade surfboards.

When the victim refused, the suspect threatened him and took his board.

The 31-year-old man called police and the suspect was arrested.

      He now faces robbery charges.
