The finishing touches were put on Lyon Arboretum’s centerpiece on Saturday – Hale Halawai, a traditional house that’ll serve as a gathering place.
It took volunteers ten months to finish building it, using only traditional hale building skills.
Hale Halawai will open to the public monday.
