A couple of advisories went into effect Saturday night as the Big Island begins to feel the effects of former tropical storm Fernanda.
The center of the remnants of Fernanda is miles southeast of Hilo and rain is still on the way.
The two advisories are due to ocean conditions. A high surf advisory went into effect Saturday and will continue through 6 p.m. Sunday for the eastern side of Big Island. A swell generated by Fernanda is building and waves should get as high as five to eight feet.
