And some diners learned that lesson at Ala Moana Center Monday afternoon.

Famed Chinese chef Martin Yan made an appearance at the Jade Dynasty Restaurant.

Showing dozens how to make noodles, cut vegetables with expert precision, and prepare a stir-fry.

Yan was a television chef pioneer, with his cooking show starting in 1978.
