Sumitomo will not appeal rail decision in court

One of the losing bidders of a key rail contract will not further appeal the decision.
Sumitomo says it disagrees with the state’s ruling in denying the company’s appeal, but does not want to stand in the way of the project moving forward.
The other losing bidder, Bombardier, filed a lawsuit last week and is asking the Federal Transit Authority to review the disqualification of its rail proposal.
The $574 million contract went to Ansaldo Honolulu.
