Air conditioning restored to most of the Honolulu Airport

UPDATE:  The cool air has begun to flow through half of the international arrivals building.  It will take a few more days for the system to become fully operational.

The air conditioning system has been restored to most areas of the Honolulu International Airport except for the international terminal, and a fix could take days.

A spokesman for the state Department of Transportation says repairs to the air condition at the international terminal may take at least five days.

The air conditioning system at the airport shutdown on Tuesday afternoon after an 18-inch cooling pipe cracked.
