Three Hawaii-based Marines are accused of hazing a fellow Marine who killed himself in Afghanistan.
Lance Corporal Harry Lew committed suicide in April, after allegedly being hazed by fellow Marines.
Lance Corporals Carlos Orozco III and Jacob Jacoby…and Sergeant Benjamin Johns were charged with various offenses, including humiliating and demeaning 21-year-old Lew, of Santa Clara, California.
The allegations include pouring sand on Lew’s face, stomping on his back and threatening to beat him.
All are assigned to Marine Corps Base Hawaii at Kaneohe bay.
An article 32 hearing, the military equivalent of a grand jury hearing, is scheduled for September 8th at the base.
