Tradewinds To Strengthen As South Swell Rises

As high pressure moves in far north of the islands we’re seeing tradewinds start to pick-up.  They should reach the 15 to 20 mile per hour range Monday through Wednesday before that high moves east and winds back off a little.  We have a rather dry air mass so only light showers expected, mainly windward and mauka at night and in the morning hours.  We should see more normal scattered trade showers from Tuesday on.
South shore surf will be on the rise, reaching 4 to 6 foot faces Monday and 2-4 on west shores.  The swell will rise further peaking above advisory-level 8 foot faces on Tuesday and Wednesday.  A shoulder-high north swell is expected Tuesday and to hold there through Friday.
