Zoo animals get blessings from St. Francis students

Saint Francis students of Manoa got up close to animals of the wild kingdom Tuesday morning.

Saint Francis students took part in a unique animal blessing ceremony at the Honolulu Zoo.

The younger children blessed the smaller animals in the petting zoo, while the older kids blessed the larger and wilder animals outside their cages.

The ceremony takes place every year in honor of Saint Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals.
