Honolulu firefighters believe an arsonist is responsible for an overnight fire at a Kaneohe restaurant.
They were called out to the Joyful Garden Fine Asian Cuisine at the Windward City Shopping Center on Kaneohe Bay Drive at about 1:30 a.m.
Seven companies arrived to find that the majority of the flames had been put out by the restaurant’s sprinkler system.
Investigators determined that a flammable liquid was used to start the fire in the dining room and kitchen areas.
Most of the damage was caused by water and smoke.
No arrests have been made.
Damage is estimated at $40,000.
