Commuters from East Oahu had a longer commute into town Monday morning because the HOV lane was not set up.
Some drivers said it took more than an hour to make the drive from Hawaii Kai, about twice as long as normal.
The city says the driver of the truck that sets up the extra lane called in sick early Monday morning and there wasn’t enough time to find a replacement.
