A Kauai surfer remains hospitalized after he struck a rock and was knocked unconscious at a Wailua surf sport.
It happened Wednesday around 4:35 p.m.
Officials say the 44-year-old Lihue man was surfing at Horner’s surf spot.
Boogie boarders pulled him out the water and called 911.
He remains in guarded condition at Wilcox Hospital.
