Ever wonder where the homeless who were moved for APEC ended up?
Some came here to this park on South King Street.
After months of preparation and clearing out of homeless in Waikiki and near the Convention Center dozens were sent packing ahead of APEC.
"Have everybody move away is what I heard, 5 miles away from the Convention Center. Well I can understand that we don’t want to show this to the nation anyway," said Elena Gabrillo, one of the homeless.
Some of the homeless say they agreed with the decision to evict them.
"They weren’t driving by this way…you know could have been so embarrassing too yeah," Gabrillo says.
"The law enforcement was a little more studious in making sure that people you know kept up their areas and stuff so I thought they did a real good job," said Rick Myers, one of the homeless.
Some say evicting homeless from one place means they will only head to another.
"What we needed was outreach, literally come take us there because you don’t know what to expect. Hard to say I am homeless and I need help," said Charade Keane, one of the homeless.
"For me, I am OK, but for help the rest you don’t have strong people out here," said one man.
Most homeless we spoke to say they are optimistic APEC put Hawaii in the spotlight and will ultimately benefit the state.
"I don’t know, I hope that it was good for the community and everything," Myers says.
"Its really its cool that everybody come together and show love. I was kinda excited, I was hoping that I could go from the street to meeting somebody in the nations or something," Keane says.
