A judge is ordering the governor to release the list of nominees from which he appoints new judges.
The Honolulu Star Advertiser sued the state after the governor refused to release the list, as previous administrations had done.
The list is prepared for the governor by the judicial selection commission.
The state Attorney General’s office released a statement, saying it is disappointed with the ruling and will be reviewing the court’s written order before deciding how to respond.
