Governor Abercrombie says Hawaii established itself as the anchor of the Asia-Pacific region during last week’s APEC summit.
"We set the standard the hospitality of the islands of course is well known to lots of people but it hadn’t really been experienced at this kind of level and this kind of consistency," he says.
The APEC Host Committee says as of Monday more than 8,000 news stories mentioning APEC and Hawaii were listed in Google News.
The committee also says that by successfully hosting APEC, the state has positioned itself as a serious business destination.
