PUC gives green light to "energy park"

From "brown field" to "bright field."

A project in Kapolei will give new life to a former disposal site.

This 12 acre parcel, owned by the James Campbell Company, will become "The Kapolei Sustainable Energy Park."

On Friday, the PUC gave the developer, Forest City Hawaii, the green light to sell power to HECO.

The plan calls for Hoku Solar to install more than 4,200 solar panels at the site which should produce enough electricity to power at least 150 homes.
