HONOLULU (AP) – Rocker Sammy Hagar is toasting the launch of his own brand of rum.
The former Van Halen frontman will launch Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum on Monday at the Hard Rock Cafe in Waikiki.
Hagar, who lives part-time in Hawaii, will be talking about what inspired him to create the drink. The rum is made with Maui sugar cane at a local distilling company.
Hagar is currently on tour with his supergroup, Chickenfoot. The rock star also owns five Sammy’s Beach Bar & Grill restaurants.
