Surf rage ends in arrest

Police say two men were surfing in the Haleiwa area, when they tried to catch the same wave and bumped into each other.

Words were exchanged, and the suspect, a 46 year-old man, allegedly started punching the victim, a 52 year-old man, in the face.

It happened around 9:30 a.m. Friday.

Bystanders had to break up the fight in the water. Both the victim and suspect were taken to an area hospital for treatment. The suspect was released pending investigation.
