Honolulu mayor to sign personal property bill

Honolulu Mayor Peter Carlisle will sign a bill Friday that would allow removal of property left on city sidewalks for more than 24 hours.

Bill 54 passed by the Honolulu City Council by an 8 to 1 margin.

It applies to parks, sidewalks and bus benches and anywhere else controlled by the city.
