Students run with some of the world’s top marathoners

Students at St. Andrew’s Priory and Mid-Pac got to run with some of the world’s top marathoners today.

Six-time Honolulu Marathon winner Jimmy Muindi greeted a crowd of eager second graders at St. Andrew’s Priory.

Three-time honolulu marathon winner Mbarak Hussein entertained first and second graders at Mid-Pac.

The children serenaded the athletes, who are both from Kenya, with african songs.

Muindi and Hussein then invited them outside for a jog.

The Honolulu Marathon is this Sunday, with more than 22,000 signed up.

In celebration…about 4,000 people were expected for a dinner and concert at the Waikiki shell tonight.
