A Kauai man remains in police custody after he allegedly fired multiple rounds from a rifle at his Kapaa home Thursday night.
No one else was at home and no injuries were reported.
Kevin Christian, 41 was arrested for first degree reckless endangering after he surrendered to police at 12:06 a.m.
Police officers along with the SWAT team and crisis negotiators responded to reports of gunfire at a home on Kawaihau Road near Kapahi Park at about 8:30 p.m. Thursday night.
Upon their arrival, the suspect was located firing a rifle from his yard.
Police closed Kawaihau Road at Ka’apuni Road, while negotiators convinced Christian to drop his weapon and surrender.
Kawaihau Road was re-opened around 12:30 a.m. Friday morning after Christian was taken into custody.
He is being held on $100,000 bail.
Police are continuing their investigation of the incident.
