Rockfall mitigation work begins next week

The Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) will be conducting weekday rock scaling work on the exterior ocean face of Diamond Head State Monument along Diamond Head road, starting Wednesday January 11.

The work will last about one month.

Crews will be working between 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Mondays through Fridays.

For public safety, the mauka lane of Diamond Head road may be closed to vehicle traffic and pedestrians, between 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

No work will be done on Monday, January 16, the Martin Luther King holiday.
