Students and teachers at Pearl Harbor Christian Academy in Waipio said it sounded like a bomb had exploded.
A car crashed into the school’s library and computer room. Officials say it came down to pure luck that no children were in the room at the time of the crash.
The 73-year-old driver and the school’s 37-year-old librarian were taken to the hospital in serious condition.
Parents were called to pick up their children and the school will remain closed Friday.
