A Maui couple says they were the victims of a wrongful police raid. They have filed a federal lawsuit against the Maui Police Department in response.
April and Norman Freeland say they were hosting a dinner last April when police burst in, held the couple outside and searched the home for a half hour.
They say their constitutional rights were violated by the search.
The county calls it an honest mistake. They say the raid was a mixup in addresses from an informant.
The county says there was no damage to the home, and no one was arrested.
