Chow hires UH special teams coach

The UH football coaching staff is complete.

New head man Norm Chow filled the final spot on his lineup of assistants announcing the hiring of Chris Demarest to pitch in on defense and special teams.

Demarest has 17 years of division-one coaching experience under his belt, including stops at Florida State, North Carolina State and Rutgers.

He coached on the same staff as Chow at North Carolina State and the Hawaii head coach describes him as an "outstanding recruiter".

Demarest was also a cornerbacks coach at Florida State, when the Seminoles won the 1999 national championship.

In addition, Chow has also decided to keep graduate assistant Inoke Funaki on board.

Funaki is a former UH quarterback, who is pursuing masters degree in public administration.
