HPR to carry State of the State, State of the Union

On Monday, January 23, 2012, Hawaii Public Radio will carry Hawaii Governor Neil Abercrombie’s State of the State address live at 10 am. on KIPO 89.3 Honolulu, KIPM 89.7 Waikapu and KIPH 88.3 Hana.

The broadcast will be hosted by HPR news director Bill Dorman; HPR political reporter Wayne Yoshioka will provide analysis and comments during All Things Considered on KHPR 88.1 Honolulu, KKUA 90.7 Wailuku and KANO 91.1 Hilo at 5:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, January 24, 2012, HPR will carry President Obama’s State of the Union address live at 4 p.m. HST., also on KHPR 88.1 Honolulu, KKUA 90.7 Wailuku and KANO 91.1 Hilo.

The broadcast will include the Republican response to the speech, and will also include political commentary and analysis from National Public Radio’s staff of political correspondents. The speech and related political analysis will preempt All Things Considered that day between 4 and 6 p.m.
