Lokahi Project collecting old telephone books

Do you have old phone books laying around?
Instead of throwing them away, you can recycle them and help our Lokahi Project at the same time.

For the next four weekends, our Lokahi volunteers will be manning drop-off locations for phone book recycling.

"Telephone books are all going to be recycled and they’ll be turned into mulch for plants on our freeways. They’ll be turned into oil change boxes and a number of other useful items, so none of the phone books will go to waste – even the color pages can be used," said Lokahi co-founder Mariellen Jones.

Drop-off sites are located at Ward Center, the Town Center of Mililani, Windward Mall and Kahala Mall.
