Teachers push union leaders for more

Since 1972, when the Hawaii State Teachers Association signed its first contract, no deal approved by the union leadership and put out for a vote has been rejected. So the overwhelming “no” vote on the proposed teachers’ contract comes as a wake-up call to union leaders as well as to the state.
