A first of its kind fundraiser in Kailua took off with a bang tonight.
More than 2,000 people turned out for the first ever Eat Out Kailua fundraiser at Enchanted Lake Elementary School.
The event helped raise money for the Hawaiian Soljahs baseball team.
About a dozen food trucks participated and a specialty car show was also featured.
"This has been a great event. This is the first time the lunch trucks have come to Kailua. Didn’t realize what kind of response I was going to get but the response was awesome," said Suzie Hussey, Eat Out Kailua.
Organizers hope to make this event a monthly fundraiser for various organizations.
