A 58 year-old male hiking the Halemauu Trail on Haleakala was reported missing Sunday, January 22, 2012 after he failed to show up at 5:30 p.m.
At 8 p.m. emergency crews were dispatched and began a search for the missing hiker.
Crews searched until 11:30 p.m. which at that time it was decided to suspend the search.
Air-1, Rescue-10, and E-13 began the search again at first light Monday morning.
