A nearby storm is pushing rain bands through Kauai and Oahu today, with the first headed toward Oahu Thursday night and a second moving over Kauai at the same time.
Much of it is expected to stall and diminish, which means Maui County and the Big Island should not see much of this rain.
The trades will return this weekend, hopefully strong enough to clear the air, but for now we have a mostly cloudy and wet night for Kauai and Oahu.
SURF
Six to eight foot surf for North shore Friday, with two large Northwest swells on the way. They should peak each peak on Saturday and Monday, respectively.
