High Surf Warning in effect for Oahu, Kauai County

The National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Waring for the north facing shores of Oahu and the north and west facing shores of Kauai and Niihau.

The warning is in effect until 6 p.m. Sunday.

According to the NWS, breaking waves could build to heights of 20 to 25 feet along Oahu’s north shores, but this swell is expected to lower on Sunday.

A High Surf Warning means the swell could be dangerous and inexperienced swimmers should stay out of the water and away from shorelines.
