Hundreds "get motivated" in 2012

His resume speaks for itself…General Colin Powell, former Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Secretary of State…a statesman, who to this day feels strongly about our country.

"Because the one thing a terrorist can’t do, not one, not ten, not 10,000. they can not change who we are, what we are, and that’s a welcoming, opening country. we can only do that to ourselves, and we must not. if we do that the terrorist win, and we need to be determined the terrorist will never win," says General Colin Powell (ret.), Former Secretary of State.

Thousands turned out for the motivational event, each trying to take something unique from it.

"You know this is like the best of the best for who we have in the united states. so, I feel that coming out here and spending a little time to learn from the best is not too much to waste my time to come out here," says Joe Ho, Mystical Sounds owner.

"They come here not to become successful, the people that are here are already successful. they’re coming here today to become more successful. and we’ve got about 7,500 here today," says Brian Forte, Get Motivated CEO.

Some of those who came made it a team building workshop with co-workers.

"Usually after an event like this we’ll sit down and talk about what was most impactful. and then how we can implement each idea, or whatever we have learned from the events," says Adrienne Lally, realtor.

And each speaker from varied backgrounds had something unique to offer, but they also share much in common…

"Paying attention to detail, paying attention to your family and relationships. doing what you say your are going to do. keeping your word, those are common values shared with all the speakers," says Forte.

Each individual paid an entrance fee into the all-day long program…cost varied depending how close you sat to the stage.

The get motivated series will now move to Oklahoma.
