Another top-ranking Kauai Police Department official is now on leave.
Chief Darryl Perry has been put on leave as of this Wednesday morning.
Two assistant chiefs were also placed on administrative leave Tuesday.
Kauai County officials would not say why, yet they did say it was a personal matter in a statement. The chiefs would be on leave until the investigation of an employee complaint has been concluded.
Deputy Police Chief Michael Contrades will serve as acting police chief in the mean time.
