A Maui Marine injured in Afghanistan was honored with a surprise homecoming.
Family and friends greeted 19 year-old Lance Cpl. Garrett "Kekoa" Dow with lei and kisses at Kahului Airport Thursday.
Last month, Dow was shot in the left shin during an ambush in Afghanistan’s Musaquala village.
A member of the Afghan National Army was shot and killed during the incident.
Dow graduated from Baldwin High School two years ago. He’s stationed at Camp Pendleton in California.
