WAILUKU, Maui, Hawai`i — The Department of Parks and Recreation will be closing the southern end of the Wahikuli Beach Park parking lot for the rest of the week due to a marine salvage operation.
Salvage workers from Cates International will be using the parking lot and the nearby area to extract and pile debris from a boat fire last week Tuesday. The parking lot will be closed starting today from the first entrance on the Lahaina side of the park to the southern end of the lot. Salvage operations are expected to end on Friday.
