Maui fire officials say on Tuesday around 4:30 p.m. they responded to the report of a 19 year-old man who had fallen approximately 40 feet from a waterfall in the Twin Falls area.
Officials say the victim suffered several lacerations to his head, back and legs.
All injuries were non life threatening.
Fire personnel carried the victim out of the stream area.
The patient was transported by ambulance to the hospital.
Water levels in the East Maui streams are very low this year making jumping from the falls extremely hazardous.
