The family of a Hawaii prisoner who was murdered at an Arizona prison in February 2010 has filed a lawsuit against the State of Hawaii and the Corrections Corporation of America.
Bronson Nunuha, 26, was incarcerated in Saguaro Correctional Center in Eloy, Arizona when he was reportedly stabbed in his cell.
Nunuha was almost done serving a five-year sentence for burglary and property when he was killed.
According to the ACLU, Hawaii law requires the state to return Nunuha to Hawaii when he had only a year left on his sentence so that he could complete necessary programs to help help re-enter the community.
The ACLU claims the state ignored this law.
