PO’IPŪ — The southbound lane of Po’ipū Road was closed for roughly two hours last night after a vehicle struck a utility pole.
The driver of a Ford convertible was traveling south on Po’ipū Road, just before 9 p.m. last night, when he veered off the southbound shoulder and struck a utility pole near 2869 Po’ipū Rd.
The driver suffered minor injuries. He was treated by medics and released at the scene.
There were no passengers or other vehicles involved in the collision.
Police officers closed a portion of the roadway while utility crews worked to replace the severed pole.
