Car break-in at shopping center leads to firearms arrest

A report of a car break-in at a Honolulu shopping center led to the owner of the vehicle being arrested on firearms offenses.

It happened yesterday just before five o’clock in the afternoon.

A 38-year-old man told police that he had been at a shooting range before stopping at the mall.

When he got back to his car, a backpack with two handguns inside was gone.

Police say there was also an unloaded shotgun on the backseat of the vehicle.

The man was arrested on 3 counts of "place to keep" and was released pending investigation.
