The Lanakila Soccer Club and members of the community will be having a signwaving event in Pearl City to encourage motorists to slow down.
The public is invited to come to the signwaving, which includes Aiea and Pearl City residents, Lanakila Soccer Club members and their families, the Honolulu Police Department and volunteers from the community.
It starts at 4:30 p.m. On the corner of Kaahumanu Street and Komo Mai Drive, makai of the Waiau Fire Station.
The event follows recent pedestrian and motor vehicle accidents involving speeding, leading to several traffic fatalities this year.
