More than 35 volunteers surveyed the neighborhoods on Kauai from Haena to Lihue and on Oahu from Kahuku to Honolulu.
Officials say the most serious damages found was in Haena, Kauai where some homes were rendered uninhabitable.
The most concentrated damages were in Hawaii Kai with one house measuring a foot of water inside their living room.
Volunteers met with neighbors and distributed clean-up kits generously donated by The Home Depot to people cleaning their homes.
