Motorists are urged to avoid Kalanianaole Highway near the Portlock area after a vehicle hit a pole.
Police say the pole did not fall, but is now leaning against a wall.
Kalanianaole Highway is closed in the eastbound direction just after Portlock Road.
Hawaiian Electric officials say the accident knocked out power to 300 customers in the area, including Koko Marina Shopping Center.
HECO officials say crews are on the scene and they are working to restore power, but do not have an estimate of when work will be completed.
