The National Weather Service has extended the flash flood warning for Kaua’i at least until 11:00 a.m. Heavy rain is expected to continue across the island throughout the day.

Below are updated road closures as of 9 a.m.:
Ohiki Road in Hanalei
Kalihiwai Road heading toward Kalihiwai Beach in Klauea
‘Anini Road leading to ‘Anini Beach
Kapahi bridge at the Kawaihau and Kahuna road junction is closed for repairs until at least the middle of next week
Kuhio Highway in the vicinity of mile marker 22.5 in Kilauea; northbound traffic is being diverted to Kolo Road while southbound traffic is being redirected to Pili Road
Kuhio Highway south of Kalihiwai Bridge near mile marker 25 (as of 3 a.m.) due to a landslide
Kuhio Highway in the vicinity of the Hanalei bridge due to flooding (as of 1:56 a.m.)
One lane of Kapule Highway near the Kaua’i Marriot is blocked due to a landslide, but remains open at this time.
The Kaua’i Island Utility Cooperative (KIUC) reports power outages in the following areas:
‘Anini
Kalihiwai
Kilauea
The Hanalei refuse transfer station is closed due to the closure of the highway near the Hanalei Bridge.
The Kapa’a refuse transfer station is currently without power and will only be accepting bagged trash until power is restored.
Green waste is not being accepted at any transfer station, except for the Hanapepe refuse transfer station.
The Kaua’i Bus has resumed service up to the Kilauea Gym, but remains inoperable north of the gym due to the blocked roadway.
A high surf advisory has been issued for east facing shores until 6:00 a.m. Saturday.
