Some Aina Haina residents plagued by flooding are finally getting some answers.
Residents living on Wailupe Place often experience flooding during heavy rains like earlier this week.
For years, they’ve been asking, "Who is responsible to clean out a clogged storm drain?"
On Friday, officials have confirmed that storm drain is state property.

On Friday, officials have confirmed that storm drain is state property.
"And so we have been looking into it with the state and civil defense to see if there is anything we can do for a temporary basis to ensure it doesn’t flood," said Rep. Mark Hashem – (D) Hahaione, Aina Haina, Kahala.
Engineers with the Department of Transportation took a look at the storm drains Friday morning.
Residents say they are relieved something will be done to prevent future flooding.
