Ocean Safety officials have reopened Hā’ena and Kē’ē beaches this morning after closing both beaches yesterday due to dangerous surf conditions.
A shark was also sighted in waters off Hā’ena Beach at about 9:30 a.m. yesterday.
Lifeguards report that there have been no additional shark sightings since yesterday morning, and the swell has decreased significantly, making the water safe for swimmers.
Beachgoers are reminded that the Kē’ē Beach tower will close at 4 p.m. again today due to the Kalihiwai Bridge closure this evening.
