Synopsis: In order to preserve a number of endemic Hawaiian birds, male mosquitoes are being dropped by drones over remote areas of Maui and Kauaæi. These mosquitoes have been bred to carry a strain of bacteria called Wolbachia, which causes the females’ eggs not to hatch.
